National Resource Hub: Resource Typing Library Tool Webinar
Wednesday, March 13, 2024 05:00:00 PM UTC - 06:00:00 PM UTC

Resource management is the cornerstone of preparing for and responding to incidents that require mutual aid among agencies and jurisdictions. The Resource Inventory System (RIS) is a centralized, secure, and cloud-hosted resource inventory solution for use by the community in building and strengthening resource management preparedness. RIS enables organizations and users to identify and inventory their resources consistently with National Incident Management System (NIMS) resource typing definitions and National Qualification System (NQS) positions.

In addition to providing a basic overview of the RIS and its functionality, the webinar will cover the following updates to RIS:

  • The ability for an organization to choose when and how to implement updates and/or releases to National Resource Types in the Resource Typing Library Tool. A single organization can now accept updates to national definitions/qualifications without impacting other organizations; and,
  • New individual ownership of an organization’s local definitions/qualifications, as opposed to a shared pool; and,
  • The ability for Organization Admins to more easily see and manage their org’s users, as opposed to a list of all users across the system.

At the conclusion of the presentation, participants can ask questions.
