Join the Region 2 National Preparedness Division in collaboration with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for a special webinar on Space Weather Storms. This presentation will focus on solar storms and just how impactful they could be to today's society with our reliance on critical technological infrastructure. This presentation will provide information about space weather and solar storms of concern, emergency management and other critical infrastructure concerns, and the decision-support and warning efforts made by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) to inform officials and operators about space weather storms and the impacts that could result. Special guest speakers from a State Office of Emergency Management will discuss how they identified space weather as a risk, included it in their Mitigation Plans and how they report on it daily. Who should attend? State, Local, Tribal and Federal Emergency Managers, Private Sector, Community and Faith-based Organizations and other Non-Profits active in disasters. FEMA works to ensure equitable access for all to any services and programs that are provided by the agency. If you need a reasonable accommodation, please make your request in an email to fema-r2-prepares@fema.dhs.gov. Last minute requests will be accepted, but may not be possible to fulfill.
